Check out our case studies of just a few of our satisfied partners. You’ll see total energy reductions from 25% to nearly 50%.
When it comes to talking about significant — dare we say, ‘amazing’? — savings, we at Freeaire® Refrigeration prefer to let our products speak for themselves. We’re conservative about our claims, so that you’ll always be pleasantly surprised by the cost savings you’ll ultimately see.
But our story just won’t stay secret. Efficiency Vermont (our state’s own pioneering energy efficiency utility) has always seen the value in Freeaire systems and has a long track record of offering prescriptive rebates for our technology. As energy efficiency and conservation become more widely accepted strategies, more rebate authorities – Efficiency Maine, Efficiency Nova Scotia, Arctic Energy Alliance, to name a few — are following suit, a trend we expect to accelerate going forward.
Curious to know more precisely what a Freeaire system can save on electricity costs and wear and tear for your cooler or freezer? There are a few ways to find out.
- Check out case studies of just a few of our satisfied customers. You’ll see total energy reductions from 25% to nearly 50%.
- Give us a call. We can put you in touch with a Freeaire installer who can give you a free installation cost estimate.
- Ask your energy services company (ESCO) or your utility’s conservation department to contact us. We can work with them to estimate the expected annual energy savings from a Freeaire system.
- Talk to us to determine your expected annual savings, as well as your payback period – the number of years it will take to pay back the cost of your investment.
Learn what you can save from these savings opportunities:
Evaporator Fans:
Before you install a Freeaire system, your evaporator fans probably run 100% of the time, 8766 hours per year. After installation, you can expect them to be silenced at least 50% of the time, even if no outside air is used. And when using outside air, those typically noisy, power-hungry fans will rarely run at all, resulting in annual evaporator fan runtimes of 30% or less.
Door Heaters:
Before installing a Freeaire system, your door heaters may run 100% of the time. Include the Door Heater Control, and you can eliminate that needless energy usage for an average of 200 days per year in buildings with no air conditioning. And in buildings with air conditioning, your door heaters will shut off as much as 300 days per year.
“Compressor Bonus” with All Climate™:
With the Freeaire All Climate™ system, the Cooler Controller™ automatically reduces evaporator fan runtime and associated heat output. We call this the “Compressor Bonus”. The more you stop your evaporator fans, the more you cut your condensing unit’s heat load – so it runs less, and only for cooling, not for its own self-generated, wasteful heat.
“Compressor Bonus” with Polar Power Package™:
When you add the Polar Power™ package, your condensing unit’s runtime will be 0% for the number of days per year when outside air takes over the entire job of refrigeration. That means no electricity consumed, no excess heat generated, and no wear and tear for the entire compressor system for days or even months at a time.
Demand Savings:
Your electric utility may charge you a ‘demand charge’ – a charge on your peak demand each month. With Freeaire, you can save on demand charges by keeping large loads, such as door heaters, evaporator fans, or compressors operating at a minimum.
Wear and Tear:
And we haven’t even addressed the savings you’ll realize from drastically reduced wintertime operation. With your equipment taking a winter vacation during most Freeaire days, you’ll see less wear and tear, fewer breakdowns and stoppages, and an end to the hassles of repair costs, equipment replacement, and lost product.
